Colchester pub history index
Also known as the Artillery House. At 25 & 26 Artillery Street in 1901 census
The building stands in the Dutch Quarter with a sign at its door stating that it was previously the Bluecoats School. This would have pre-dated the later Bluecoats School which is remembered by many a Colcestrian today. It is a fine looking building of perhaps 300 years age and stands adjacent and to the south of the old Fencers Inn of probable greater age. ***
