My husbands ancestors were
residents of the Royal Oak, High Street, Chipping Ongar. They were the
AUGER'S, WOODLEY'S, MARTIN'S and GIBLEN'S . There were also others we know
lived there. Richard was the publican in 1891 with is wife Emily Giblen (nee
Woodley). He was born in Pilgrims Hatch and she in Dunmow. Emily died in
that year aged 30 and Richard died the following year, 1892 aged 29. They
were my husbands great, great aunt and uncle. **
