"I lived in Ongar in the fifties from about '56-61, and at that time the
Cock was run by a lovely couple called Earl and Elsie Brooke-Footitt,
he was an ex-coastal command crew member who worked for Marconi at
Chelmsford whilst Elsie ran the pub. They had a son who I think was
called Martin."**
