Alfred Warman died in WW1

A personal story of the Warman family at the Harrow public house.

All my Warman family were all Mariners, from Kent. William Warman married Hetty Maria Hill and was also the captain of a ship called The Martin. My grand father came out to New Zealand and married my grand mother in New Zealand. I have all the old letters that were written at that pub, all to New Zealand,  they are beautiful letters.

The owners were Harry and Hettie WARMAN. The letters are dated March 11th, 1925, sent to New Zealand where my grand father lived. The old letters came from the Pub while they were all living there. They are about the family, the War and the people who went to the pub.

They talk about the war, how the pub is not doing too well, as no one had any money etc. I also have some beautiful photographs taken of the whole family taken at the pub. They are all in their beautiful dresses. And out the back they had photo's taken with the "Warman "family etc which is a mock Fishing trip, a really superb photo.

This picture, with the beer and cat and tent  is taken in the yard of "The Harrow."
