Bookmakers claims against a Brentwood man. Henry Charles Platt, a bookmaker of Shenfield Common, sued William G Deeks, lately landlord of the Spread Eagle Inn, Brentwood, for £49, money paid to defendant by mistake. The bets were fraud as when postally sent where the postmark should be the guide.
Thr defendant consulted a postal employee called Thompson used postmarks which were not made by stamps for general dispatch.
