My father Micheal William Johnson was the Landlord here for over 5 years in
the mid seventies when it was a restaurant and bar; if I remember rightly it
was part of the "Berni Inns group"... He later went on to buy the Riverside
Inn at Earls Colne in Essex until he had to sell it, I believe it is an
Indian Restaurant now. *+
Also if it is of any use, he ran the Clarendon Royal Hotel in Gravesend,
Kent prior to The Horn for many years in the early seventies, again for the
Berni Inn Group and bizarrely my son is the Head Chef there now! *+
